McBride’s Nursery

We all know how harsh and arid the Australian outback is, but it doesn’t mean you have to live with a spinifex garden.

Sally and Darren McBride opened a garden centre in Kalgoorlie in 2005, which has since become a firm favorite with locals and visitors alike.

Not only does the garden centre have an impressive array of plants and garden displays, but Darren’s 29 years experience in the nursery industry and has meant he’s become somewhat of a guru for locals wanting to plan and design  gardens.

The centre, which has twice won the Water Wise Garden Centre of the Year, has been thoughtfully created with brick paved pathways conscious of customers with prams and the disabled, with strategically placed outdoor settings which make it user friendly for all folks as well as providing a lovely shady environment to relax and enjoy this beautiful oasis in the desert.

Next week we feature an innovative idea that Darren and Sally have developed to assist gardeners design and landscape their own properties.

McBrides Garden centre in Coventry Street Kalgoorlie is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
