Waste Authority

Waste Management is a vital part of our Building and Construction industry. From building cut offs to construction rubble, waste is actually a resource that builders are harnessing.

Master Builders recognises excellence in waste management at the 2016 Master Builders Bankwest Housing Excellence Awards and the call for entries is now open.

Master Builders is calling for companies to enter the waste award that have a particular focus and passion for using better waste management practices

One example of a company providing fantastic recycling services for builders is RJD Contracting, who pick up timber off cuts from site and take them to the Hazelmere Resource Recovery Park.

Criteria for the awards include, entrants showing that they have successfully diverted waste from landfill during a construction project and builders should identify how they have avoided, reduced and reused waste during the planning and construction processes.

Judging is based on the approach used and the execution of practices across the company. It really is a great incentive for builders across WA and is supported by the Waste Authority.

Master Builders has been an incredible partner to us here at Home in WA and it plays a vital role in the implementation of waste management in the building and construction industry in WA

Applications for the 2016 awards opened on July 1st and close August 28. For more information head to www.mbawa.com/awards-program.
