The Master Builders Association of WA

Formwork is being installed for the pouring of the first floor slab at the Master Builders Association Show Home number three currently under construction at Minum Cove, Mosman Park.

This week, Richard Repp talks with Andre Shearer, the project supervisor for Webb & Brown Neaves, about the processes of ensuring all essential services are designed and installed as the slab is poured. This will guard against expensive and time delaying alterations which can be incurred once the slab is in place. This includes plumbing, electrical wiring, vacuum systems and communications systems.

Richard also speaks with Nigel Lilley from the Builders Registration Board who emphasises the importance of including damp-proofing in brickwork, to avoid rising moisture from the soil having a devastating effect on internal plaster and external render.
