Master Builders Association Choosing a Career in the Construction Industry

Choosing a career is one of the toughest decisions in our lives. Master Builders wants to talk to people thinking about careers in the construction industry.

Given the boom in WA construction, people in the trades or builders are able to earn more than many university graduates.

The long term prospects for young people in the industry are also strong, because there is an ageing demographic in the building workforce, so there will be plenty of opportunities for young people to reach senior positions over the next few years.

The strong demand for construction is forecast to continue for many years – especially in the commercial area where builders erect hospitals, schools, offices, factories, bridges and roads. In the residential area, there may be some changes in annual demand, but we will need more houses built each year to accommodate our growing population until well after 2020. So building careers offer more job security than in other industries. Get in touch with the MBA or the BCITF and they’ll be only too pleased to help you out.
