Perth Property Update

Despite all the ‘noise’ and the various opinions we hear in the media, the facts around the Perth property market are clear. Today there are just over 14,000 properties on the market in Perth , which is very similar to where we were this time last year.

Recently however there was a 15 per cent increase in sales activity in Perth, with 524 transactions reported in one week alone reflecting a 30% increase in sales activity for that week. House, unit and apartment sales enjoyed a spike while land sales reduced slightly by about 10%.

School catchments remain a big driver for buyers as do access to a ‘lifestyle factor’ which most people now expect in a suburb, including trendy cafes, boutique shops and easy access to transport links.

Character inner city homes offering an opportunity to add value generally have the lowest days on market, suggesting higher buyer confidence around these properties with a relatively low supply meaning increased demand in the right suburbs.
