Eastman

Local company Eastman Poletti Sherwood Architects are the team responsible not only for the recent restoration of some of Geraldton’s oldest buildings but also for the design and project management of some of its newest.

Eastman Poletti Sherwood has been behind many of Geraldton’s most prominent public design projects since 1973 along with major projects in the Kimberley, the Pilbara, the Mid-West and other remote areas. And as true blue locals the team appreciate the importance of designing a building that suits unique requirements of the region.

Eastman Poletti Sherwood’s latest project – a mixed-use development at Batavia Marina includes an alfresco area downstairs at “Conversations” restaurant, which uses aluminium louvres and sails to control heat and wind without compromising the aspect of the building.

The remainder of the lower level of this development will house retail and commercial premises including the headquarters of Abrolhos Pearls. Upstairs, guests can enjoy sweeping views of the Marina in the Function Centre complete with adjoining seminar facilities. The upper level also houses residential apartments designed to take full advantage of Geraldton’s best waterfront location.

And for residents who really want to enjoy the view, Eastman Poletti Sherwood also designed the Boardwalk Apartments at the Marina. This development of six luxury apartments really is indicative of Geraldton’s new direction – a move away from sleepy regional backwater towards a modern, thriving and vibrant regional centre.

And just a couple of hours north, Eastman Poletti Sherwood have once again called their expertise in regional design and project management into call with the Alta Riva Luxury Apartments project in Kalbarri.

Intended to suit a variety of holiday-makers in four-and-a-half star accommodation, the design here is centred around a central swimming pool whilst maintaining maximum privacy for individual units.

The resort has been sited and orientated to take advantage of the views to Red Bluff and glimpses to the Murchison River and to provide shelter from the prevailing Kalbarri winds.

Throughout the Mid and North -West, Eastman Poletti Sherwood retain a commitment to designing functional projects that suit not only their purpose but also their environment and the company’s commitment to their local community is leading the way towards a brighter Geraldton future.
