Just a few short months ago, this Aberdeen Street site was rejuvenated and brought back to life to take a well earned place among the very best restaurants in Perth’s dining Mecca, Northbridge as Casa Pepe.
The food prepared by owners Tani and Jose` Monterrubio is fresh, beautifully presented, very tasty and moderately priced. And the service is a delight from interested, attentive and well trained staff. This most hospitable Spaniard Jose` has, over the last 36 years, adhered to the basic fundamentals of hospitality. Good food, good atmosphere, good people and you’ll find every dish on the small but tantalising menu very enjoyable.
Jose` was the force behind many of Perth’s best restaurants over the last 3 decades ranging from Franco’s to Hay Bistro, and is credited with introducing garlic prawns to Perth, a specialty dish which you’ll find on his menu to this day.
You’ll find Casa Pepe in Aberdeen Street opposite European Foods. There’s plenty of secure parking behind the restaurant and proudly features disabled access.
Recorded broadcasts: 3 May 2008; 17 May 2008.
