Because a person’s needs and wants are so important to their quality of life and wellbeing, the Braemar team take the time to understand each resident’s life story, allowing for a more meaningful care environment to be created.
This relationship focus isn’t restricted to clinical care. Residents are actively encouraged to be involved in developing lifestyle and entertainment activities, which is so important to quality of life.
Recent additions include enrichment lectures, cooking demonstrations and dancing lessons that culminated in a wonderful winter waltz.
Holly spoke with Braemar’s CEO Wayne Belcher about how important and special the relationship centred care model is to them and how offering care, friendship and quality of life is something they really pride themselves on at Braemar.
Braemar has three facilities; Braemar Cooinda and Braemar Village in Willagee and Braemar House in East Fremantle.
While all three facilities offer different accommodation styles, each shares the Braemar approach of quality care, meaningful resident engagement and a commitment to meeting residents’ individual needs and wants.
Holly also spoke with Bernadette Samura who is the facility manager at Braemar House about the extremely positive impact the relationship centred approach has on the residents at Braemar.
