As part of an ongoing conversation with founder of Blueprint Homes, Craig Park, this week the two of us had another chat about the process of building your own home. To date we've set a budget, chosen a location, secured our finance and locked in a builder. The next stage is Pre Start… or otherwise know as 'the fun stage'!
Why? Well this is when we get to shop. Tme to select all the fittings including door handles and taps. Right through to the bigger ticket items like bathtubs and ovens. Wall Colours, carpets, tiles and doors are all chosen here too.
Of course for some of us, particularly first timers, a little advise might be in order. Which is why Blueprint Homes will assign a consultant who'll be there every step of the way to help guide buyers through the process, making sure the decisions made are going to be the best. After all, they have loads of experience.
The good news? Next time Craig and I meet it's the final stage and time to get the hands dirty. Not so much our own, it'll most likely be the builders. That's right, it's time to lay some bricks!
