BCITF – One Industry

The Building and Construction Industry Training Fund, known simply as the BCITF, provides financial assistance to builders and contractors for the placement and training of apprentices and for the ongoing skills improvement of their employees.

HOME in WA has been following the procedures of the BCITF, talking to administrators about the need for more skilled workers and trades people in the Australian workforce and the wonderful opportunities available to young people wishing to make a career in the building and construction industry a first choice option.

Today we meet an industry employer, roof carpenter 29 year old Jarrad Henderson and one of his young apprentices, Shaun Donegan, who is a third year apprentice in roof carpentry.

Jarrad explains that at the mature age of 24, he decided to put himself through an apprenticeship and just five years later, finds himself employing apprentices of his own.

Jarrad explains how this is only possible with the financial and administrative support of the BCITF.
