One of the first ports of call for the HOME in WA team when visiting Geraldton is the offices of the City of Geraldton in Cathedral Avenue, where host David Grant talks with Chief Executive Officer, Rob Jefferies.
David asks about the major initiatives that have been undertaken by the City in recent times, including the Port Enhancement project, where the harbour channel has been deepened by three metres. This has allowed larger cargo ships to use the port facility and has seen the commencement of the shipping of iron ore since the programme’s completion.
Mr. Jefferies also discusses the Southern Transport Corridor and the Foreshore beautification, including the relocation of the current rail line, two other major projects making significant contribution to the extremely positive outlook in Geraldton and the Mid West
