Jason Colby continues his tour of the Goldfields by talking with Sue Turich, Chair of the Goldfields Tourism Association.
Sue talks about the often-held inaccurate image of Kalgoorlie-Boulder as “just” a mining center with miners working underground in oppressive conditions.
Whilst today’s mining activities are carried out with state-of-the-art equipment, it is still a rugged activity, Sue concedes.
But there is a wide calendar of cultural, sporting and arts activities that provides the population of Kalgoorlie-Boulder with a balanced, relaxed and often exciting lifestyle.
